Coach Hayes

Donnie Hayes, Varsity Head Coach
Coach Hayes has been a member of the Lakeside baseball coaching staff since the 2007 school year. He was Head JV Coach for the first three years and assisted with the Varsity for five years. Hayes was named Head Coach in June of 2015. Prior to entering the education field, Hayes was a patent attorney for about 15 years. Coach Hayes is an Auburn graduate with a degree in electrical engineering. He earned his law degree while working in Washington DC. Even prior to making the change into education, Hayes was involved for many years in various levels of coaching recreational, All Star and travel baseball, as well as working at various baseball camps. In addition to coaching baseball at Lakeside, over the last few years Hayes has been Head Varsity and JV Softball Coach for Tucker High School.

Coach Gonzalez

George Gonzalez, Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Gonzalez has been at Lakeside for three years assisting Coach Newsome and Coach Hayes. He previously coached the Varsity team at nearby Tucker High School.

 

Cass

Chuck Cass, JV Head Coach
Coach Cass is a social studies teacher at Lakeside. This will be his fourth year as a coach in the Lakeside baseball program. His previous coaching experience has come as a volunteer coach and manager at Rehoboth and Druid Hills Youth Sports baseball programs. Along with his wife Angela, a 3rd grade teacher at Laurel Ridge Elementary, Chuck has two sons, Evan and Ryan. Coach Cass is excited to be a part of the long tradition of great baseball and sportsmanship that has been a hallmark of the Lakeside High School baseball program.
